Craig S. Fleisher, Ph.D., is the Chief Learning Officer and Director of Professional Development at Aurora WDC, a 20+ year old professional services firm. He is a veteran, graduate EMScom faculty member at the Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano, Switzerland), and Professor (adj.) at the University of Wisconsin (Madison), Tampere Univ. of Technology (Finland). He has held positions as Dean, graduate programs director, Endowed Research Chair and/or Professor at the Universities of Windsor, Calgary, Coastal Georgia, Wilfrid Laurier, and New Brunswick, and served on doctoral committees at universities in Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, Switzerland and the UK.
Dr. Fleisher has been a nationally recognized MBA instructor, a former President of the Canadian Council for Public Affairs and international association of Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) in which he has won its highest (Meritorious) lifetime award, an ex-board member of the European Centre for Public Affairs (ECPA), Center for Public Affairs Management (Washington, DC), a life member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and elected member of the IABC Foundation Committee, a member of university advisory boards for public affairs communication programs in Australia (U. of Sydney), Canada (Mt. St. Vincent U., Nova Scotia) and the USA (George Washington U., GSPM, Washington, DC), and a founding member and former executive officer of the Intl. Assn. of Business and Society (IABS).
An active researcher ranked among the top cited contributors internationally in the fields of communication management, corporate communication, business-government relations, competitive intelligence, and issue management by Google Scholar, he is Associate Editor of the Journal of Public Affairs (Wiley) and served/-s on the Editorial Boards of the Asia Pacific Public Relations Journal, Interest Groups & Advocacy, and South African Journal of Information Management, among others. Several of his books on business analysis and public affairs are considered to be foundational in their fields and have been translated into numerous foreign languages. His best known business-government relations books are Assessing, Managing and Maximizing Public Affairs Performance (Washington, DC: PA Council, 1997), Handbook of Public Affairs (SAGE, 2005), Public Affairs Benchmarking (Washington, DC: PA Council, 1995), and his newest release the SAGE Handbook of International Corporate and Public Affairs (w/ P. Harris, 2017).
